Listen to the Christmas song : Nat King Cole
Reviews, video and info on The Christmas song Nat King Cole.
My father adores Nat, and has played this cassette (he refuses to switch to digital) every Christmas as far back as I can remember. Now I’m spending my first Christmas away from home, and some of the things giving me comfort are these songs, which take me back home to that little house in Alaska that the rest of my family is celebrating the holidays in. A warm and joyous classic – no mistake in buying it!
The Christmas Song, here sung by Nat King Cole in a video taken from youtube, is also subtitled or “Merry Christmas to You” and “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” and is a classic Christmas song written in 1944 by Mel Tormé and Bob Wells.

This cd has been remastered three times, 1999,2005, and this 2009 issue, all re-issues were remastered with 24-bit technology. This set deletes the song “Adeste Fideles” for it’s American counterpart “O Come All Ye Faithful” which was recorded for this album originally but was relegated as an outtake. Nat’s Christmas Wishes opens this cd whereas on the 2005 issue, now out of print but available here in the digital stream, it’s close to the closing track, the bonus tracks from 2005 “Toys For Tots” and “Happy New Year” are dropped as is Nat’s introduction to “The Christmas Song” used as a lead in for the duet version featuring Natalie which now closes this cd. This cd, probably in it’s final configuration, replaces the dropped tracks for the singles “Buon Natale” and “The Happiest Christmas Tree” both previously released on “Christmas For Kids” cd(s) and “All I Want For Christmas (Is My Two Front Teeth)” recorded in mono with the trio with the vocal group “The Starlighters” on backing vocals. The remastering compared with the other versions is just a touch louder.
