This is a compilation of the beginning of your jazz listening journey. If you are a musician or an avid jazz fan, these tunes should be in your playlist. Many jazz jam sessions feature tunes from this list. The main jam session forms include: 12 bar-blues (listen to Freedie Freeloader, or even One for Daddy-O), the I’ve Got Rhythm Changes (listen to Oleo), Jazz Standard AABA form (listen to Four), Bebop (which is a genre and form, see Now’s the Time), and Modal Jazz (which is also a genre and a form, listen to So What).

The fun about listening to jazz is that there is always something else to inspire you, whether a recording by the masters, or at a live event (I highly recommend you to go out and see some jazz performances, that is what jazz is about).
